Mobile Field Stereo Recorder

For double system recording such as with the Canon 5D, we use the Zoom H4  Digital Recorder. Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and ideal for recording live musical performances, interviews, podcasts, meetings, classes and seminars. The H4 allows you to record 24-bit/96 kHz digital audio as well as in MP3 format with bitrates up to 320kbps. Unlike other field recorders, the H4 also has a 4-track recording mode for easy-to-use mobile multi-track recording. The H4 will also render 4-track audio with CD quality, 16-bit/44.1 kHz resolution.

Audio Adapter – BeachTek DXA-5D
A 2 XLR to mini-headphone (3.5mm) adapter that mounts under a camera. The Beachtek DXA-5P allows two sources to be input, including timecode feeds. Input is through 2 XLR, although it offers an auxiliary mini-headphone input as well. Inputs are switchable between ‘Mic’ level and ‘Line’ level input as well.
